Winnie Chan, Mentorship Chair

The Mentorship Chair is responsible for coordinating our mentorship program, which matches up dancers with more advanced mentors who meet with them weekly and provide individualized feedback. They ensure the success of the program by checking in regularly on matches, organizing mentor-mentee bonding events, and fostering connections between old and new members.

Why did you join CU Ballroom?

I joined because there was a ballroom dance studio next to my middle school after school program, and before every class I would watch the dancers practicing their figures. They were so intriguing and fun to watch that decided I had to give ballroom dancing a try in college.

One thing you’d like to improve about ballroom through board this year?

Board visibility.

Waltz and Bachata

V-waltzing down the ramps with Julia <3

Advice for newcomers/people interested in joining ballroom?

Don’t stress too much about competitions — just have fun!
