Year and MajorBC 2021, Computer Science/Physics
Why she joined CU Ballroom: “I joined because there was a ballroom dance studio next to my middle school after school program, and before every class I would watch the dancers practicing their figures. They were so intriguing and fun to watch that decided I had to give ballroom dancing a try in college.
Her favorite CU Ballroom memory: “Probably the first team FNF. That was the first time I felt like I really bonded with the team. I also realized how much I enjoyed social dancing.”
What she enjoys most about ballroom dancing: “The team — everyone is so talented and hardworking while at the same time super friendly and hilarious. I honestly can’t think of a better group of people to be around 24/7.”
Her goals for this year as a board member: “To make traveling to and from competitions as smooth and stress-free as possible.”
Her advice for newcomers: “Don’t stress too much about competitions — just have fun!”
Her favorite ballroom dance: “Jive because it’s so happy and full of energy, just like me! :)”
Her favorite ballroom dance-able song: “‘Feel It Still’ by Portugal. The Man.”
Her favorite ballroom dance move: “Spin turn/American spin.”
Her favorite social dance: “Bachata.”
Her favorite dancer to look up to: “Sam <3”
An unexpected thing she got out of ballroom: “A crazy group of friends.”
